Airdrieonians carry a five-match winning streak into Saturday's League One fixture against Montrose at the Albert Bartlett Stadium. The Diamonds' recent form includes a 7-1 demolition of Berwick Rangers last weekend, a result that showed their attacking power.
Recent scoring form
Craig Smith scored a hat-trick in that 7-1 victory, with goals also coming from Euan Simpson, Calum McKinnon, Greg Gallagher and Kyle Taylor. The previous week saw a 6-1 away win at Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic, where Gallagher netted twice and Dipo Iserhienrhien also scored a brace.
Those results have lifted the mood around the club after a mixed start to the campaign. The overall sequence from the last five outings shows two wins and three defeats.
Team news and outlook
The team that secured a 2-1 win at Peterhead last month featured Josh Sneddon in goal, with a back line of Sam Fisher, Daniel Gallagher, Cammy Ross and David MacDonald. The midfield trio of Calum Smith, Calum McKinnon and Lewis Gibson provided the platform for forwards Mark Yates, Craig Burnside and Dapo Mebude.
Kick-off against Montrose is set for 14:00 UTC on Saturday, 3 October.
