Airdrieonians turn their focus to cup competition on Tuesday night, hosting Hearts U21 in their final Challenge Cup group stage fixture at the Albert Bartlett Stadium. The Diamonds enter the match on the back of a five-game unbeaten run in League One, which includes a 2-2 draw away to East Kilbride last Friday.
Striker Gibson, who scored the winner from the penalty spot against Montrose, is expected to lead the line again. The team's full squad list shows a settled group, with the same starting eleven that faced East Kilbride likely to feature.
Hearts U21 travel to Airdrie following a heavy defeat in their last outing, but the young side will pose a different tactical challenge. Airdrieonians will look to control the tempo from the outset and secure the points needed to progress from Group 6.
The match kicks off at 7:45pm local time, with the winners taking a significant step towards the knockout rounds of the competition.
