Airdrie United boss John Rankin has sealed his second summer signing after landing Sam Fisher from Dunfermline. The 24-year-old defender follows on from forward Matty Yates signing up at New Broomfield late last month. Rankin is delighted to get the centre-back on board, with Fisher having gained plenty of SPFL experience during spells at Dundee, Forfar Athletic, East Kilbride, Kelty Hearts, and Stenhousemuir. Fisher said: 'I'm buzzing to get it all done – it's probably been a few weeks in the making, so I'm just buzzing to get it over the line and get started.' Meanwhile, midfielders Cole and Dylan Williams joined striker Divine Iserhienrhien and goalkeeper Cade Melrose in signing contract extensions with the club. The outfield trio had been on loan at Edinburgh City last season and their showings earned a return to Airdrie. Rankin said: 'I've been impressed by what I've seen of the lads in the footage from Edinburgh City, and the feedback on them has been excellent, so we're delighted to get them tied down.' On 21-year-old Melrose, Rankin said: 'Cade has proven his ability already, so it's good to get him signed up and add another piece of the jigsaw.'
