Airdrie United have signed Owen Stirton in a co-operation agreement with Dundee United. The 18-year-old will link up with fellow Baldragon Academy attendees Sam Cleall-Harding and Scott Constable in North Lanarkshire. Stirton, who recently penned a new contract with his boyhood club, has already made 11 appearances for Dundee United this term across both domestic and European competition, finding the back of the net on one occasion against Kilmarnock in the Premier Sports Cup. He also featured three times for Scotland U19s in November, scoring on his full debut in Lithuania. The deal sees the budding frontman given the opportunity to attain further senior action whilst also continuing to play a key role within the first-team set-up at Tannadice throughout the second half of the season.
